Pueblo is offering the Pueblo 150 Challenge to people living and working in Pueblo County to get more active exploring Pueblo and Colorado June 1st to August 1st.

  • You pick your own challenge to do over the 9 weeks.  Maybe try to log 150 miles on foot (hiking/walking/running-that is average of 2.4 miles/day), or 150 miles on bike (any bicycle including E bikes that are pedal assist), or 150 miles combined on foot or bike.  For those of you over achievers, maybe 150 miles within 48 hours.  â€‹We will collect electric scooter and bicycle miles as they take you places your car can't and they minimize wear and tear on the roads.

  • Track your progress with your watch, device, and any app you like.  You will only be asked to prove your miles if you win a big prize and will need to show your app to claim the prize.  This is more about setting a goal, being social sharing your progress on social media or your fitness app to inspire others to go a little farther and reach their own goal. Use #pueblo150 for us to find you and share the spirit with others.

  • Make it a team effort, join your worksite and/or a social team to support one another, stay motivated and meet up for rides, walks, hikes, paddles or whatever your challenge. Your group can offer a Strava challenge or motivate one another in your group chats or groups.  Just register By July 15th, track your miles and log them on the link that will be provided below starting July 15th until August 5th.

  • We will collect all your outdoor miles to see how far we all go together as we explore Pueblo and Colorado. We will collect miles in the following categories that you can track: walk/hike, running outdoors, pedal bicycle, Ebike pedal assist, paddling (kayak/SUP), elevation gain, other wheels (wheelchair, scooter, one wheel).  We will also collect miles commuted to work, shopping (anytime you replace a drive with a walk or ride).

REGISTER to join and set your own challenge goal HERE

  • This is just a fun, casual, independent and voluntary challenge meant to be a safe way to challenge yourself and celebrate Colorado's 150th birthday your own active outdoor way.

  • Join your worksite team or a group you are involved with or start your own team, you can do it all on the registration form.

  • Be sure to follow the rules of the road, ride, hike, run, move safely as you are responsible for your own health and safety. Check out our safety videos and tips.

Log your final miles HERE starting July 15 until August 5

  • We are looking for gift cards/certificates for fun prizes to raffle off to those that log their miles.

  • Subaru of Pueblo  immediately stepped up offering $500 for this challenge which will help with advertising and include three $150 cash prizes to raffle off to those submitting their miles by August 5th.

  • We will tally all the miles logged in our community and see how far Pueblo goes. We also will collect fun and inspiring stories of what people experienced during the challenge.  Did you make new friends, lose weight, discover a new trail or place to explore?  Did you find meaningful connection or personal achievement during the challenge?

The United States celebrates the signing of the Declaration of Independence 250 years ago on July 4th.

Colorado celebrates 150 years of statehood on August 1st.  So there are tons of ways to celebrate America 250/Colorado 150 this year and especially this summer.

After the Pueblo 150 challenge, a large group of Americans will be participating in a free relay across the United States on the American Discovery Trail (ADT).  The relay passes through Pueblo in September 2026.   You can sign up to volunteer, run or ride part of the course - learn more here.
