Successful day at Skyview 2010

Skyview students showed human-powered transportation is completely feasible, safe and fun on October 6th!  Between 150 to 180 students participated in the International Walk/Bike to School day and used the unimproved trails flanking the school.

  • 98 bicycles arrived on campus compared to the normal 3 to 5 bikes in the bike rack
  • Over 65 students walked to school compared to the normal 5 to 10 students
  • Students logged over 190 miles on the supervised trails leading to the school with adults handing out raffle tickets every 1/2 mile
  • At least 53 students walked/biked over 2 miles one-way to school
  • At least 18 students walked/biked over 3 miles one-way to school
