May Day Walk or Ride Sierra Vista Trail

drop in anytime 5-7 pm


Learn about the wildlife and surrounding area with the new outdoor classroom and rangers that will be along trail with live bull snake and live raptor.  Pueblo West Equestrians will have a horse to discuss safely sharing the trail with all users.  

  • Dogs may frighten the snake and raptor so best to leave them at home for this event.  
  • Learn how to fix a bicycle flat tire from Cycle of Life  
  • Fruit smoothie samples made by pedal power on the fender blender! 
  • Take a May Day Basket made by a Sierra Vista student to ding dong ditch at a neighbor or friend's house.

Start anywhere on the paved trail loop or park at Sierra Vista Elementary (500 S. Spaulding Ave) to get on the trail behind the school.  Go as far as you like but try to hit all four educational signs spread along 0.7 mile stretch of trail.

  • 3 mile walk/ride - Sierra Vista south to left turn and climb after Kenosha crossing and back  
  • 5 mile walk/ride - Sierra Vista south to full paved loop and back
